Best Playgrounds for kids in Orlando
History of Play Parks
We know how kids today have become soft and are accessible to the best playgrounds and effortless activities. To get the actual extent of the change, it is best to observe the situation 100 years ago. At that time, playgrounds consistent activities that we would consider dangerous according to current standards, but fun none the less. After continuous reviews of the condition of the playgrounds, we have experienced gradual but consistent change over the years. The process has led to a transformation that we now see as the safe playgrounds today.
Children commonly suffered fewer physical injuries. These occurrences are detrimental to their emotional development because they cause fear and anxiety. Experts observe that emotional disturbance is worse than physical harm such as broken bones. The playground is supposed to be a place to encounter risks and overcome fears. This is why monkey bars, tall slides, and other thrilling activities remain a great part of the playground.
Although falls are still common in playgrounds, they are never serious to cause permanent damage whether physically or emotionally. Although most parents and some psychologists worry that children who suffer bad falls develop a fear of heights, studies reveal contrary results. Instead, children below the age of 9 who get hurt by falling in a play park is least likely to develop the fear of heights when they grow up.
It is safe to say that the current state of playgrounds is based upon lessons derived from the harsh conditions experienced early in the 20th century. Today, the transformation of playgrounds is not only evident in safety-enhanced precautions but also educative purposes. They are educationally interactive to help children develop creatively.
